Migraines!!!

Today is team practice night. I really don't like it when she misses these days. I feel like she misses some important instruction she can't make up any other time. Let me tell you, she is only 7 years old. She competes level 5 of USGA. She has placed in the top three all around of every meet she has competed. I don't know why these feelings are present. Really, what is she going to miss? So what if she doesn't move up to level 6 until next year? So what if she doesn't win every time? Is it really going to matter in the grand scheme of life? NO!!!

The reason she is staying home tonight is because she suffers from migraines. A terrible affliction to suffer at only 7 years old. She has been getting them for quite some time now. Perhaps 2-3 years. They don't come often, but when they do...watch out!! She becomes sick!! The poor kid has enough experience with them that when she has one and the babysitter is here she takes care of her self. Takes her medicine and puts herself to bed! Pretty good for a little girl!!

So we are home tonight in soft warm jammies, snuggled in a blanket on the couch. What better way to spend a cold winter night of Christmas break?

I think we will be better in the morning...Practice at 9am!!!

Rock Hard Abs!

Have you ever looked at someone and thought, "Wow, they are in amazing shape?" Well, I have that privilege every day. Let me just tell you how that feels...It stinks!!! Jealousy maybe?? Yes, that is what it is. I am jealous of my girls!! They have these legs that are just amazing. And the abs, ugg, I would be happy with just a flat stomach, I don't need a twelve pack like they have.

I being of good English and German descent was blessed with the ability to stay warm on the coldest of nights. A lot of extra insulation all around. Get the picture? Even when I was doing Army ROTC, I did not look remotely chiseled. I am not sure what melting pot the husband dropped from, but apparently, his family is from the deserts where you need no extra fat at all!!! Hence our girls who have amazing strength and agility (from me no doubt) along with no extra body fat(obviously from the Husband).

I look at these girls with true amazement and wonder. "How do they do it?" Well, I have resolved to be thankful to The Creator for blessing me with the ability to last many days without food. I have also resolved to be the best temple for my King I can. Which at this time is looking a little run down.

I am writing this because the girl who has muscles in places most of us have never even moved before, came to me after lunch and said,"I am sore. Why does my back hurt so much?" Well, her coach has stepped up the conditioning of the girls. Like they need stronger muscles!!!! Ok, so they do.

I too need to step up the conditioning. I have fallen short. New Year's Day starts a 40 day challenge to better myself. Join me!! Who knows, maybe you will see me in a leotard at the end...ok maybe not, but there will be a beautiful picture to include lip gloss!!

The Beginning

This is a story of my journey through the mothering of two little girls who are into leotards and lipgloss! One lives for gymnastics, the other wants to be a ballarenia. Please join me as I adventure though life trying to balance leotards, lipgloss, football pads, and baseball pants, along with being the wife to an amazing man. I have chosen to focus on the girls for only one reason, I am a girl! I am sure you will hear about all those hot days at football games and the learning of baseball by the brothers.

I must now go. They have friends and we must go meet them for a playdate! Let the running begin.
