What summer is over??? School has began. Football is in full swing. Cameron is cracking some skulls. Cail well, he is starting to get it. Ellie has started Preschool. Perhaps that was a big mistake :( Grace is doing better!!
Now on to the leotards and lip gloss!!! Ellie took a summer dance class. She did well. Loved her tap shoes. But has decided to try gymnastics for now. She will be on the mini team. She thinks she is big stuff.
Grace is starting Level 7. Leotards are beautiful!! Lots of glitter!! New warm up. And now we just need some floor music! Winnie the Pooh was vetoed by all!
Can't wait to see what this year will bring!!

What??
It is only 4 days until the next meet. The Head coach decided on January 8th he would go and have himself some open heart surgery!! What was he thinking???? Our gym is to host this meet. That means craziness and chaos for the next week. Now, who knows how anything will get done! I am confident the parents will step up and things will go off without a hitch! I usually plan all the food for these meets. It can get pretty stressful at times. Nobody really knows how it is all going to work until it just mysteriously happens. No one signs up to help, we always need food. But some how in the end it all works out great!
Byron is doing well, he should be out of the hospital in time to sit and watch the meet. I am sure he will be there! He is a bit of a fanatic. But that is why we love him!
Get well soon, Byron!
FYI the meet is Saturday at 130 at Howe High School on south Julian in Indianapolis. Admission cost is $5. Would love to see you there!
Byron goofing off with the kids!

All the girls!

It's a New Year!!!
I can't believe it is already January 2, 2010!! Where is the year going? Gym practice was on New Year's Eve. It was a fun filled event. Didn't stay and watch the practice, but trusting they worked hard! After practice it was off to Mozzi's Pizza for lunch. Most of the team went. It was a good time. It is so nice to have a gym family. It amazes me to think about these girls growing up. They are all pretty close right now. I pray it will continue. I imagine them going to college, being in each others weddings...the list goes on.
Our goals for this year are simple.
1)Start Ellie in Dance classes.
2)Make it through the gymnastics season safe and well.
Pretty loft goals, huh? I am sure the girls have bigger goals for them selves, so I will keep mine simple and easy to achieve.
Next Gym meet is January 16th. I believe at Howe High School. More details will follow.

Migraines!!!
Today is team practice night. I really don't like it when she misses these days. I feel like she misses some important instruction she can't make up any other time. Let me tell you, she is only 7 years old. She competes level 5 of USGA. She has placed in the top three all around of every meet she has competed. I don't know why these feelings are present. Really, what is she going to miss? So what if she doesn't move up to level 6 until next year? So what if she doesn't win every time? Is it really going to matter in the grand scheme of life? NO!!!
The reason she is staying home tonight is because she suffers from migraines. A terrible affliction to suffer at only 7 years old. She has been getting them for quite some time now. Perhaps 2-3 years. They don't come often, but when they do...watch out!! She becomes sick!! The poor kid has enough experience with them that when she has one and the babysitter is here she takes care of her self. Takes her medicine and puts herself to bed! Pretty good for a little girl!!
So we are home tonight in soft warm jammies, snuggled in a blanket on the couch. What better way to spend a cold winter night of Christmas break?
I think we will be better in the morning...Practice at 9am!!!

Rock Hard Abs!
Have you ever looked at someone and thought, "Wow, they are in amazing shape?" Well, I have that privilege every day. Let me just tell you how that feels...It stinks!!! Jealousy maybe?? Yes, that is what it is. I am jealous of my girls!! They have these legs that are just amazing. And the abs, ugg, I would be happy with just a flat stomach, I don't need a twelve pack like they have.
I being of good English and German descent was blessed with the ability to stay warm on the coldest of nights. A lot of extra insulation all around. Get the picture? Even when I was doing Army ROTC, I did not look remotely chiseled. I am not sure what melting pot the husband dropped from, but apparently, his family is from the deserts where you need no extra fat at all!!! Hence our girls who have amazing strength and agility (from me no doubt) along with no extra body fat(obviously from the Husband).
I look at these girls with true amazement and wonder. "How do they do it?" Well, I have resolved to be thankful to The Creator for blessing me with the ability to last many days without food. I have also resolved to be the best temple for my King I can. Which at this time is looking a little run down.
I am writing this because the girl who has muscles in places most of us have never even moved before, came to me after lunch and said,"I am sore. Why does my back hurt so much?" Well, her coach has stepped up the conditioning of the girls. Like they need stronger muscles!!!! Ok, so they do.
I too need to step up the conditioning. I have fallen short. New Year's Day starts a 40 day challenge to better myself. Join me!! Who knows, maybe you will see me in a leotard at the end...ok maybe not, but there will be a beautiful picture to include lip gloss!!

The Beginning
This is a story of my journey through the mothering of two little girls who are into leotards and lipgloss! One lives for gymnastics, the other wants to be a ballarenia. Please join me as I adventure though life trying to balance leotards, lipgloss, football pads, and baseball pants, along with being the wife to an amazing man. I have chosen to focus on the girls for only one reason, I am a girl! I am sure you will hear about all those hot days at football games and the learning of baseball by the brothers.
I must now go. They have friends and we must go meet them for a playdate! Let the running begin.
